Project Overview
At Atlantic Landscape Solutions Inc., we specialize in hydroseeding and grading for erosion control and vegetation growth. For this industrial retention pond in Dayton, NJ, we prepared and hydroseeded a 40,000 sq. ft. area to improve stability and ensure long-term functionality.
Retention ponds face unique challenges like fluctuating water levels, runoff, and soil erosion. To ensure long-term stability, we implemented a strategic grading and hydroseeding approach for rapid and uniform vegetation growth.
Our Process
-
Site Preparation & Grading
Fine-graded the retention pond for proper drainage.
Removed 10 cubic yards of roots, rocks, and debris. -
Soil Conditioning
Loosened 1 inch of topsoil to enhance seed-to-soil contact. -
Hydroseeding Application
Hydroseeded 40,000 sq. ft. for optimal erosion control and growth.
The Results
By implementing proper grading and hydroseeding, we created a stable, erosion-resistant environment for this retention pond. The new vegetation will help maintain structural integrity and long-term functionality.
Why Hydroseeding?
Erosion Control
Tackifier and mulch anchor seed and soil, reducing runoff and displacement.
Faster Germination & Stronger Growth
Moisture-retaining hydroseed mix promotes quick, uniform germination.
Better Coverage & Uniform Application
Ensures even seed distribution for consistent growth, even on slopes.
Cost-Effective Solution
More affordable than sod with better erosion control than traditional seed.
Customizable Seed Mix
Tailored for moisture fluctuations and soil stabilization in retention ponds.
